Collaboration with Canadian snowmobile producer Bombardier expands steadily. Snowmobiles put the reliability and performance of Rotax engines under the microscope, and they pass every test with flying colours. The highpoint is an expedition to the North Pole, where the Ski-Doo’s Rotax engine helps the team to complete the first independently verified expedition over ice.

The newspapers report, “The first time the North Pole has been conquered by motorized vehicles is a triumph for Austria! Since Admiral Robert Peary planted the star-spangled banner in the snow at precisely 50 degrees North in 1909, no one has succeeded in travelling to the highest point of our continent via a land route until 1968. And when Peary’s pioneering achievement was repeated several months ago, for the first time using motorized vehicles, it was the dedication of Austrian designers and workers that made it possible.”
