ROTAX AS A
“GERMAN ASSET”

Rotax-Werk AG under public administration by Dr. Theodor A. Ebster

FICHTEL & SACHS PERMITS ARE SUSPENDED

After the war, German business is placed under Allied financial control. As a business registered in Wels, Upper Austria, Rotax is placed under public administration by the Austrian Treasury Department.  As a “German asset”, the company is still owned by its parent company Fichtel & Sachs. However, due to Allied regulations and the newly-implemented Verwaltergesetz (administrator law), shareholders’ powers have been suspended since the end of the war.

Reconstruction is tackled under the aegis of former ministerial official Dr. Theodor A. Ebster. His economic expertise is useful in his role as a member of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board. All the company’s activities are recorded and monitored. There are strict conditions - monthly reports have to be provided to the Treasury Department and the US military administration.
